About Us

NJPA is the oldest Bengali organization in New Jersey that provides a forum to the community on nurturing, cultivating and promoting our religious and cultural heritage. In the beginning it was called “Saraswati Puja Committee” and later renamed as “New Jersey Puja Association (NJPA)” and incorprated as a non-profit organization in the state of New Jersey. It first organized a public function in 1970 and ever since it grew progressively in its membership and cultural and religious activities. Besides religious and cultural programs, it also organizes community get-together through annual picnic, social events, movie shows and so on. NJPA also actively participates at various types of community services and educational programs along with other local organizations.
